Even the Pros get it wrong sometimes - as shown here with these two mistakes at the WGC Dell Match Play.

The European Tour heads to the Austin Country Club for the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. World Number One Dustin Johnson enters as the top seed for the fourth consecutive year in a row. He headlines Group 1, and will go up against Kevin Na (28), Robert MacIntyre (41) and Adam Long (61). A repeat of the 2019 final will occur early in this year's contest, as defending champion Kevin Kisner (34) finds himself in a group alongside Matt Kuchar (52), who he defeated 3&2 in the Championship match. Major champions Justin Thomas (2), and Louis Oosthuizen (22) also feature in that group. Eyes will also be on Lee Westwood (18) - who has finished as the runner-up in two of his last three outings - as he competes in the all-European group of Tyrrell Hatton (8), Sergio Garcia (39) and Matt Wallace (51).

This is gold.
Should have used a 9 iron
I’m going to have putting nightmares now.
Ouch! That's a really sucker punch in the nuts.
Savage “and splash” from the commentator
Ha ha golf is fun
Utterly ridiculous is the best way to describe that (esp with that wind). Why not simply put a slight lip on the grass near the edge of the water, so fast balls roll in, yet slow ones get hung up in the hazard without getting wet.
Hmm, the moment when you wonder if the Greenskeeper and the ball diver have a 50/50 agreement...
“And scchhpplasshhh” 😂
Splash!
You know the troll groundskeeper who created that green is watching this and loving every second
I never criticize course setups and I love US Open type golf, but this is a poor setup, even at 17 at the TPC this does not happen, it seems the green needs to be raised in that area
Holes like this make no sense but to mock players. This is not a real test of any golfer’s skill.
That is ridiculous, to have the error of margin so small to have the ball go into the water like that!!! I'd like to see the person who made the call to set it up like that to make the putt.
Those were not putts. They were not on the green.
TRUE
I can do that! 😉
they are all playing the same course so it's fair in that regard, but it is fùque-ing stupid to design a hole like that. why not just set up a course on a random cow pasture to make it difficult.
Yo why the first dude pointing at the ridge like it was the ridges fault he completely misread that 😅
Come on in, the water is fine
I did it at Settindown Creek in Atlanta on the first hole. It’s not that difficult
Ridiculous green makes no sense being that far on the green to go into water
Can these players not see the slope?
Splash...
That 2nd one was just horrible
That second putt was horrible
Those splash noises have surely been added in afterwards?
At least they didn't pay for the balls
two terrible putts they deserved what they got
To be fair its a pretty unnecessary green, almost as unnecessary as a giant spoiler on an ugly car.
Stinks that it went into the water.
Anyone really thinking this is good for the televised game? Anyone remember Shinnecock 2004? Just stupid, ALL of it.
I'm with you on this. Horrendous set up and I bet the members don't play it with the fringe shaved.
@Fake Woke Joke I wonder if you yourself understand whatever it is you mean by "target golf"? Is not all golf aiming at a target (either a flag, or a landing zone?) As for your "1 or 2 inches off line": if that is the margin of accuracy needed whilst putting to keep a ball on a green, what are the chances with shots of (for instance) more than 100 yards? I'm not even sure the players respect a tricked-up course that does this. It isn't proportional. And that is what makes it a joke. The USPGA made an utter fool of itself in 2004. Billy Mayfair could (arguably SHOULD) well have won, but for puts that couldn't stay on a green. Johnny Miller commented on one green that it was like pitching to a roof of a VW Beetle and expecting it to hold. It ceases to be about skill under such circumstances.
Those are horrible putts...
That moment when you think you are safe from the water on the green...👁👄👁
WOW....IN WATER
